Thomas Schlamme is an executive producer, consulting producer, executive consultant and director on The West Wing. He was most active during the first four seasons, directing 14 episodes and left as an executive producer following Aaron Sorkin's departure from the series. He remained on as a consulting producer for the first two episodes of Season 5, before becoming an executive consultant for the rest of the series.

He is a longtime friend of Aaron Sorkin, and the combination of his visual style and Sorkin's writing led to the now famous Walk and Talk. He also worked with Sorkin on Sports Night, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and the untitled upcoming Facebook movie.
