Mary Marsh is a member of the religious right and aligned with the Reverend Al Caldwell and John Van Dyke. During the Pilot she was insulted on the air by Josh Lyman and causes a great deal of turmoil in the White House.
She later appears on Shibboleth to encourage Jed Bartlet to let a group that seeks asylum based on persecution of Christian values.
