Mary-Louise Parker is an Emmy and Golden Globe winning actress who played Amy Gardner on The West Wing and is best known as the star of the television series Weeds.
Parker was signed on to play the recurring role of Gardner during the third season, and was possibly intended to be a cast member, but shooting schedules did not allow for her to appear on the show full-time. She was nominated for an Emmy for the role in 2002.
