Lord John Marbury

Lord John Marbury, Earl of Croy, Marquess of Needham and Dolby, Baronet of Brycey, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States for the United Kingdom is the current British Ambassador to the United States and former ambassador to New Delhi from the United Kingdom. His grandfather was a Viceroy (presumably of India, but possibly Ireland) According to the Episode "Wakeup Call," one of Marbury's uncles performed in the London Opera Company's production of the Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta "The Mikado" as te character "Nanny-Poo"


Lord Marbury was educated at Christ College, Cambridge where he studied ancient history and Eastern Philosophy. He played cricket for the college with former England and Glamorgan captain Tony Lewis. Prior to that he was schooled at Eton. He was a member of the Garrick Club, where he often played Bridge on Thursday afternoons.
