John Amos is an Emmy-nominated actor who played Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on the first five seasons of The West Wing. He was nominated for a Emmy for his role on Roots and has had starring or guest roles on Good Times, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The District, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Maude. He also starred in the motion pictures Coming to America, Lock Up and Die Hard 2.

He also guest starred on an episode of Psych as West Wing co-star Dulé Hill's uncle.
